Month 18: Decade Journey
Month 18, July 2025.
$1 million USD in 5 years, 60 months, but will keep going until 120 months.
Where I am
July’s financial overview below, so close to $3k again, but I am pretty sure I am going to hit the $3k mark in August. In addition to the below, I earned $30 in Affiliate revenue + $13 in courses.
I am having a hard time trying to move away from Upwork, although the money is really good. It will be super hard to scale from it. Compared to last month, I am in a much better situation now with my clients.
I have since started to prioritize customers and pick projects that are relevant or might teach me something. That has been a game changer for me.
Also, I noticed I got better at managing my time. One of the aspects that made it very difficult for me to start and finish tasks or projects is that I didn’t have a clear GOAL or an easy task to begin with.
It is so stupid now in retrospect, but instead of creating a task: “create a piece of content” I am now saying: “get an idea from the content idea doc, add it to our content agent, publish it”.
It is a lot easier to understand what I really need to do, and that takes the effort of thinking “what exactly do I need to do?”
On another note, a big deliverable this month was my Q3 Plan. I wanted to keep it as simple and manageable as possible, so here it is:
This is all in slack, which makes it a lot easier to keep track of.
Did I tell you guys what the Signals Starter Story is? If not, more on that below.
One last thing about the month of July is that I have pretty much figured out the fulfillment part of clients, which makes it a lot easier and less headache to manage each.
One very important tool that helped me with that is n8n. It is pretty expensive, but I have since migrated to Elestio, now it is basically $10 a month. The SOP is pretty straight forward and working right now.
Actually, just one more thing about July: I am more consistent with posting content as well (at least on LinkedIn), it has been 3 weeks now of weekly posting.
Where I am going
So…about the Signals Starter Story. This is a biiiiig thing I am working on right now.
I usually tell clients that “the offer” in a cold outbound campaign is the most important part of the entire project.
You can’t fake genuine value. What you offer HAS to be good in order for everything to work. You basically can’t put lipstick on a pig.
Having said that, the offer that I had previously was pretty weak: “lead generation, cold email” and I wanted to improve that. I wanted to have an offer that did not require me to have a call with a client or have on-going tasks that I needed to pay attention to.
So I came up with this idea to basically launch a self-service GTM playbook. Where builders could simply go and learn how to source leads using a particular strategy or signal.
I really want to ship this and implement the offer in an outbound campaign. Really excited to see if this will work (I am not sure, to be honest).
I will start super small, it will look more like content than a real product. But I am sure this has value to builders.
July plan and how it went:
Prepare for the 1st full quarter for DJ. Make a simple OKR and QBR process. ✅
Finish SOP for the entire customer journey. ✅
Agentic organization: 1 AI agent (or Gemini Gem) to help with List Building. ✅
Agentic organization: 1 AI agent (or Gemini Gem) to help with creating content ✅
Start a cold campaign for DJ. ❌ (sucks that I am paying for and not using it)
Have 1 more video published on Youtube ❌ (I don’t have an excuse here)
Get 1 testimonial video from a customer. ✅ (I actually got two!)
August plan:
Launch the MVP for Signals Starter Story
Launch a cold campaign for DJ
Have 2 more videos published on Youtube
Launch Clay course on Udemy
Have a content schedule that actually works
Add testimonials to website
Ongoing / Long term projects.
Create an “About us” page.
Create a “Tools” page.
Improve Home Page for DJ
Launch Reddit channel as well.
