Month 24: Decade Journey

Month 24, January 2026.

$1 million USD in 5 years, 60 months, but will keep going until 120 months

Where I am

Man, I really like this tradition of writing this monthly update. I love it, every once in a while I think about going back to a few updates just to check on what I was doing back then. We usually forget where we were and how we felt, so this is good on that front as well.

We are officially done with the first month of 2026. Moving forward, I will now just report the monthly’s revenue as I now have a few different income streams.

January snapshot:

  • $6312,26 (Courses, Affiliate and Client’s revenue included).

  • 2 new clients onboarded.

This month was all about taxes and accounting. I learned (the worst way possible), that I had a bill of over $2.000 USD that was due from last year’s revenue (and that was the most optimistic scenario).

So I had to basically spend A LOT OF hours meeting accountants and tax professionals to see what was the best way forward.

That was a nightmare, but now I have found a good accountant and he is taking care of all this. It is not all over but the worst is already behind us.

As I said in the previous update, I had a lot of time to organize my company during holidays and that has been really helpful. Now, I have a clear sense of what deliverables each client needs and my service lines for proposals and SOW.

The bad news (not so bad) is that I am now at FULL CAPACITY, meaning I can’t take any more clients. In January, my own business was hurt by the lack of available time, I didn’t keep a consistent schedule for linkedin posts or videos, nor did proper follow up on important deals.

That has raised the alarm that I need to hire someone ASAP. More on that below.

Oh, I also took some steps towards launching a new website.

Where I am going

The main bottleneck to scale my agency right now is hiring. I need to hire someone ASAP to handle client fulfillment, otherwise I won’t be able to scale past $6k revenue.

My services right now are much more professionalized, so I have a better idea of costs, profits and what each project will take in terms of hourly services.

This will allow me to hire someone. I had a quick conversation with my brother last week and he is going to help me with some tasks and hopefully he likes the job enough to come and work with me in the agency.

So, there are a few big tasks and projects that are real bottlenecks right now that I need to solve:

  1. Hiring for client fulfillment

  2. Finish accountant and tax setup

  3. Better website (which will help in hiring and deals)

Those need to be at the top of my priorities before anything else.

Oh, I almost forgot to update you guys, but I can now successfully say that I have a proper Project Management tool that is being used and delivering on its promises (ClickUp). This has been a game changer, I can now fully unload my mind in there and keep client work being done. A PM tool will also help tremendously with onboarding the new hire.

As a reminder to myself for next month:

Be more consistent with the things that scale: content and communities.

Here is the usual list I use to keep track of things:

January plan and how it went: ✅❌

  1. IMPROVE SYSTEMS around Content and Fulfillment ✅

    1. Create the Content tasks (Process Directory) in ClickUp ✅

  3. 1 more Udemy course published ❌

  4. Website 50% done ❌ (almost)

  5. Lemlist for DJ ❌ (I can’t do that before hiring someone)
