Month 27: Decade Journey

Month 27, April 2026.

$1 million USD in 5 years, 60 months, but will keep going until 120 months

Where I am

On April 6th the agency turned 1 year old, yay! Not many things happened but I am happy that the team at Apify has invited me to join them in their developer conference. That got me by surprise and I was so excited to be invited and have the trip fully paid by their team.

So, I will spend two weeks in May working from Prague! On other news:

April has been a very weird month, on one hand we have hit record revenue, but on the other hand I feel like I am not progressing in the direction I want to or, maybe, not exactly how I expected to.

All of my growth has not been exponential, I think that is perfectly fine for this stage but the problem I feel like is that I don’t see a way on how it COULD be exponential. Many of the things I do are very manual, clunky, “point-solution” some customers like that but it is damn hard to scale.

Now, I am really getting a sense of how hard it is to scale services. But we will get there, we just need time to figure things out.

You can not die if oxygen is coming in.

I am sad that most of my goals or things I wanted to work on this month I was not able to do, mostly because I was stuck doing client work. I desperately need a better SOP and handover processes.

Good news: we now have 2 GTM engineers that have been of great help. I am really happy with their performance so far. Most of the mistakes they made was mostly my fault, but given they are just 2 months in, they are already contributing a lot to the business.

Where I am going

I’ve completely stopped doing the things that have got me to where I am today: content, exploring new things, etc. That stops now.

I have already mapped out what exactly I need to do to get back to creating more content, the systems that I am going to need, etc, so I just need to execute on that. That will be a big focus for May. If I can end the month with the website live and some of the content systems already working, I will be pumped.

Sometimes we complicate things that don’t really need to be complicated. Now that I have a business that is running and working, I think 90% of keeping a business alive is just having systems that don’t break and are consistent enough that you just keep shipping things.

Again, I had this reminder from the previous month.

Be more consistent with the things that scale: content and communities (newsletter). I will change a little bit: Do things that scale AND Nothing is as bad as it seems.

Here is the usual list I use to keep track of things:

April plan and how it went: ✅❌

  1. Hire another intern (GTM Engineer). ✅

  2. 2 more videos published on Youtube ❌

  3. Website finished ❌ (almost there I think)

May plan:

  1. Go Live website

  2. Content System working

  3. 2 new videos published.
